Newsweek just published my piece about Mitch McConnell’s legacy
Yesterday, Newsweek published my piece about Mitch McConnell’s legacy.
Mitch has been my Senator my entire life. When he disappeared from the Senate for 90 days without explanation, I was frustrated – he’s voted against paid sick leave, while receiving the best taxpayer-funded healthcare this country has to offer.

But more than anything, I was heartbroken for the Kentuckians who needed his leadership during this cost-of-living crisis.
Instead of resigning and allowing a Senator fit to serve to step in, Mitch has clung to power for every last second to rubber-stamp Trump’s agenda in Kentucky.
And my opponent, Andy Barr, is already recycling Mitch’s playbook. He skipped our first debate, he voted “yes” on Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill, and spends more time calling corporate and billionaire donors for campaign donations than talking to Kentuckians on the campaign trail.
We’ve been duped into believing we have to settle for this, simply because that’s the way it’s been in Kentucky for the past four decades.
We don’t need another Senator who puts power, wealth, and donors first. That may be Mitch and Andy’s track record, but it does not have to be our future.
We need a Senator who puts Kentucky first.
If you’re ready for a Senator who only answers to you, please chip in $25 or whatever you can spare right now.
