The FBI is involved. Here's what happened.

Hey all, it’s Charles here. My general consultant and chief strategist Kamau has an important message to share with you directly, so I’ll let him take it away:

This week, our campaign was the target of a cyberattack. Overseas hackers tried to break into the communication systems used by Charles and our campaign leadership, and they went after our website too. We’ve also learned they got into at least one staffer’s Signal account sometime in the past couple of months.

The FBI and other law enforcement agencies are involved, and we’ve taken the steps needed to secure our campaign’s systems and private data.

Here’s how Charles put it:

“The fact that foreign actors attempted to hack and infiltrate our campaign systems so close to the election is only proof that we’re in a position to win. Our enemies, both domestic and abroad, don’t want to see this campaign succeed and are scared.”

He’s right. Nobody goes after a campaign they think is going to lose.

But being in a position to win isn’t the same as winning. Election Day is almost here, and the best answer to an attack like this is to show that this campaign is stronger than ever.
